This winter, Taiwan invites travelers to witness one of its most anticipated celebrations as the 2027 Taiwan Lantern Festival illuminates Miaoli County from 20 February to 7 March 2027.

Bringing together artistic creativity, cultural traditions, and spectacular light displays, the festival promises an unforgettable experience for visitors of all ages. Under the theme “Where Time Slows and Lights Awaken," Miaoli will offer a beautiful setting to experience Taiwan beyond its familiar city attractions, with opportunities to explore its landscapes, local culture, and destination experiences.

International visitors attending the festival can enjoy special gifts announced by Taiwan Tourism Administration:

For Independent Travellers

• One complimentary 2027 handheld lantern.
• One limited-edition festival gift.
• One viewing-stand ticket (not valid for the opening or closing ceremonies).

To collect these gifts, visitors must present their passport or Taiwan entry document at the redemption counter in the Main Lantern Exhibition Area between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., from 20 February to 7 March 2027.

For Group TravellersVisitors booking a comprehensive Lantern Festival tour package through an overseas travel agency (excluding airfare-and-hotel-only packages) are eligible for:

• One complimentary 2027 handheld lantern.
• One limited-edition festival gift.
• One viewing-stand ticket when attending the Miaoli festival (excluding the opening and closing ceremonies).

Group gift applications must be submitted through the appointed Taiwan-based travel agency by 31 January 2027.

All gifts are limited to one of each item per eligible visitor and are available while supplies last.
