Uzbekistan Gets Closer to India as Centrum Air Adds Hyderabad–Tashkent Connectivity
New direct service strengthens India–Uzbekistan air links, giving South Indian travellers easier access to the heart of Central Asia
Uzbekistan is set to become even more accessible to Indian travelers as Centrum Air expands its India network with the launch of direct flights between Hyderabad and Tashkent from September 28, 2026. The new route marks the airline’s second Indian gateway after Delhi, adding a significant new connection between South India and Uzbekistan.
The new Hyderabad–Tashkent service will operate twice a week on an Airbus A320neo, providing direct access to the Uzbek capital. The route will also offer passengers convenient onward connections through Centrum Air’s Tashkent hub to destinations across Central Asia, the CIS, the Middle East and Europe.
Hyderabad opens a new gateway to Uzbekistan
The launch is particularly significant for the South Indian travel market. Hyderabad is one of India’s major metropolitan centers and an important hub for technology, business, education, and international travel. Direct air connectivity eliminates the need for travelers from Hyderabad and neighboring markets to route through other Indian cities before reaching Uzbekistan.
For leisure travelers, this means easier access to Uzbekistan’s iconic destinations, from the historic streets of Samarkand and Bukhara to the cultural experiences of Tashkent and the ancient Silk Road heritage of Khiva.
The new route is also expected to support student travel, VFR (visiting friends and relatives), business movement, and onward international travel, creating a broader base of demand beyond traditional tourism. Centrum Air Founder and CEO Abdulaziz Abdurakhmanov highlighted Hyderabad’s potential across these segments as the airline continues to expand its presence in India.
Delhi–Tashkent continues to strengthen the network
The Hyderabad launch builds on Centrum Air’s growing presence in the Indian market through its Delhi–Tashkent service. The airline currently operates three weekly flights on the Delhi–Tashkent route, providing direct connectivity between India’s capital and Uzbekistan.
Centrum Air had earlier announced an increase in the frequency of its Tashkent–Delhi service to three flights per week from March 29, 2026, operating on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The additional frequency has given travellers greater flexibility while strengthening the air corridor between the two countries.
The Delhi–Tashkent route covers approximately 1,586 km, with the nonstop journey taking around three hours, making Uzbekistan a convenient short-haul international destination for Indian travelers.
A boost for India–Uzbekistan tourism
The expansion comes at an important time as Uzbekistan continues to strengthen its position in the Indian outbound tourism market. Greater air connectivity is helping make the destination more accessible not only from North India but now also from a major South Indian gateway.
For the Indian travel trade, the addition of Hyderabad creates another opportunity to develop Uzbekistan itineraries for leisure, family holidays, cultural travel, business trips, and longer Central Asia journeys.
With Delhi and Hyderabad now serving as gateways, Centrum Air’s expanding India network is helping create a stronger aviation bridge between the two countries.
